JAMB Interacts With Stakeholders On Admission Procedures

In line with its commitment to curb admission infractions and boost the capacity of tertiary institutions in the country to conduct credible admissions, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has recently organised an an in-house interactive session for Heads of Institutions and their Admission Officers in Ekiti State. Declaring the forum open, the State Coordinator, Mr. Hassan Lawal, disclosed that the meeting was the second of its kind and would serve as an eye opener for all the Admission Officers of the participating institutions.  Mr. Lawal, who extolled the virtues of interface among stakeholders, stated that such would, among others, serve to acquaint the various institutions with up-to-date information on innovations and other vital information.  He, therefore, stressed the need for regular interactions and enlisted the support of all  stakeholders in order to achieve the Board’s objectives.In his response, the Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti, and the host of the in-house interactive session, Engr. Dr. John Alake, commended the State Office for domesticating the Board’s initiative, which, he said, would ultimately help institutions in the State to curb admission infractions. The virtual meeting had in attendance, the Desk Officer for Ekiti State,  National Headquarters, Abuja, Mr. Owolabi Adelowo, who explained the nitty-gritty of the procedures involved in carrying out a thorough and successful admission process for all prospective candidates.Various Heads of Division in the State Office also used the opportunity afforded by the forum took to explain the functions and responsibilities of their respective Divisions/Units in line with the Board’s statutory functions.
