The Commander of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, otherwise known as Amotekun Corps, Adetunji Adeleye, who also doubles as the Chairman of Amotekun Commanders in the southwest region, has expressed confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to providing full support to the corps.
Adeleye emphasised the importance of Tinubu’s backing in ensuring the safety of lives and properties in the southwestern part of Nigeria.
The Amotekun boss highlighted the need for the relevant authorities, specifically those under the Federal Government, to grant the security outfit the necessary opportunities to fulfil its mandate.
He emphasised that Amotekun has proven its capabilities over the past three years, having diligently trained its personnel to handle various security challenges.
Adeleye also appealed to the authorities to equip Amotekun with advanced technologies and sophisticated equipment similar to those utilized by criminal elements.
He stressed that providing Amotekun with such tools would significantly enhance the effectiveness of their operations and enable them to counter the tactics employed by criminals.
“We want to appeal to the relevant authorities under the Federal Government to give us the opportunity we deserve.
“Over the past three years, our personnel have undergone extensive training and have demonstrated their competence.
“To better protect the general populace, it is imperative that we are equipped with sophisticated equipment comparable to what our adversaries possess.”
