Nigerian Navy sets vessel conveying illegally refine crude on fire

A vessel which was confiscated by operatives of the Nigerian Navy, MV Cecelia Imo, has been set ablaze by the Navy.

The vessel was set ablaze in the middle of the sea, alongside over three hundred thousand liters of illegally refined crude oil products.

Newspot reports that the action was supervised by personnel of the Nigerian Navy Ship Pathfinder.

Joint operations of the Nigerian Navy had arrested three people with the MV Cecelia Imo, a vessel carrying three hundred and fifty thousand liters of illegally refined products, suspected to be Automotive Gas Oil, AGO.

The NNS Commander, Commodore Desmond Igbo had also during the parading of the suspects, said the development is just the beginning and that all those involved in the illegality will be brought to book, including the vessel owner, his suppliers, buyers and everyone connected.
