Manchester United midfielder, Bruno Fernandes has slammed referee John Moss, insisting he is part of the reason the Red Devils were defeated 2-0 by Tottenham in the Premier League on Saturday.

The United captain is demanding an apology from Moss for failing to award Manchester United what he described as ‘a penalty’ during their defeat to Spurs.

The Red Devils suffered a 2-0 defeat to Spurs in their second game of the season.

Fernandes felt the Red Devils were denied a nailed-on penalty in the first half when an Alejandro Garnacho shot struck Cristian Romero’s arm in the box.

The video assistant referee reviewed the situation and nothing came out of it.

However, Fernandes slammed both the referee and VAR for not awarding the Red Devils a penalty that would have helped turn the match around.

The referee apologised to Wolves on Monday night after they were denied a penalty at Old Trafford after Andre Onana clattered into two opponents.

Fernandes wants the same treatment from Moss that the Wolves received

Speaking after the game on Saturday, Fernandes was asked what explanation the referee gave for not giving a penalty and he told Stadium Astro, “You’ll have to ask him. They have to start making interviews after the games so they can explain themselves.

“It’s a clear penalty. No excuses for not seeing, no excuses for the VAR to not see that.

“Last week they made a big thing for United not having a penalty against us. I want to see what’s going to happen this week. If it’s going to happen…the same show that they did last week.

“I want to see if John Moss also comes to apologise in our dressing room like they said they did for the manager of Wolves. I hope he’s here and he can come.”
