“We are truly in dire need of a Saviour, not a mortal rescuer but a divine messenger with a milk of human kindness flowing in his veins and no longer this taskmasters in guise of leaders… We’ve tried everything and nothing helps. We’re at the end of our rope. Is there no one who can do anything for us? Isn’t that the real question (for now)? says another rendering of the statement! May God of heaven show up on our behalf.”

As usual, the waters have been tested, opinions indirectly sampled and the mood of the citizens gauged… It has been found out that the atmosphere is not yet ripe to roll out this next step in our taskmasters in guise of political leaders evil agenda.

What to do now? Our Indian colleagues used to say at critical moments like this. The next action is to withdraw inside the shell a little like the snail used to do to look for other means of achieving the same aim! Maybe the president should be advised to come on air to deliver the usual rhetorics of the promise of an impending light at the end of the dark tunnel address.

Or the Vice President should try to appeal to the conscience of the seeming elites by rolling out still, the statistics of how carbon emission is being eradicated for us to register our names in the league of the developed nations by reducing the number of cars plying our roads through the sentencing of the honest and hardworking citizenry to poverty prison for life, while we feed the ‘rogue spirit’ in our leaders with sumptuous meals imported bullet proof cars and contract sums worth billions of naira!

Thus, starting with the usual propaganda mechanism as a prelude to unveiling the next phase of introducing the punishment to be meted to ‘hapless’ electorates for daring to allow peace to reign by not resulting to either a violent reaction for their efforts during the election taking for granted or taking to the streets on riot for taking them as hostages in their ancestral homes.

Our Shylock leaders will later go to the drawing table again, to hatch another plan after carrying out a successful hypnotism session on the gullible masses with the usual appeal for belt tightening while on a journey to a Canaanland that had always been a mirage during all the past administration including the present, and another round of fat envelopes of “… prayers sent to the mailboxes of the concerned to allow them enjoy their holiday allowances”! I am sure labour will not be exempted in the present round of prayer sessions to prepare a safe landing for the next economic ballistic missile that may be thrown at the innocent but struggling masses.

Please note that the next plan to be released neither include the immediate fuel dispenser re-calibration and adjustment at the filling stations that ensures the dispensing of N500 worth of fuel for N1000 that is already in place nor does it capture the high volatility of fuel in circulation that makes it burn out faster than we were taught that its volatility level should be in our elementary chemistry! God, indeed is the husband of the widows in Nigeria…

Please use a calibrated container to measure the fuel dispensed to you when next you go to the Gas station to buy fuel in spite of the hiked price to know the actual literage paid for and the quantity dispensed by the machine and also record the quantity purchased in a notebook with a view to checking your odometer readings for the distance covered and comparison of the time the quantity dispensed took to serve with the recommended consumption rate of your car…

Could it be that the land is under a spell and we realized it not? This is because the Good Book says “Woe to thee, O land, when thy king is a child, and thy princes eat in the morning! A more contemporary version makes the statement clearer by saying that ” … A country is in trouble when its king is a child and its leaders feast all night long” I hope Nigeria is not in trouble presently as this saying goes! Like an ancient writer in the Good Book cried out at the peak of the struggles of his life with ‘winning the battles that he is expected to lose and losing the ones he is expected to be winning, saying, “What an unhappy man I am! Who will rescue me from this… that is taking me to death?”, I think it is time to cry out as a nation too…

We are truly in dire need of a Saviour, not a mortal rescuer but a divine messenger with a milk of human kindness flowing in his veins and no longer this taskmasters in guise of leaders… We’ve tried everything and nothing helps. We’re at the end of our rope. Is there no one who can do anything for us? Isn’t that the real question (for now)? says another rendering of the statement! May God of heaven show up on our behalf.
