Big Brother Naija “All Stars” housemate, Venita Akpofure, has revealed that while growing up, she was a victim of domestic abuse.
The mother of two made this revelation while speaking with her love interest, Adekunle, in Big Brother’s garden.
Venita alleged that her father used to push her down the stairs and strike her with things that were both blunt and sharp. She added that he kept her outside the house for almost three hours.
She did, however, add that he got drunk during her wedding introduction and made a speech about how he frequently considered apologizing to her for being violent.
She said that her father was strict and that she could have assumed he was punishing her, but in his statement at her wedding, he acknowledged that only she, out of all his children, had he ever been physical with.
In her words;
“So my dad was abusive, especially towards me and he will hit me with wires, objects, knives and once he me down the stairs and locked me outside in the snow for three hours. His dad was very harsh, so I think he thought what he was doing was right.
So at my introduction, he actually got drunk and said a speech about how he’s always wanted to apologize to me, out of all his children, I was the only one he was physical and violent with the most.”
