Former Super Eagles head coach Austin Eguavoen has urged the Super Falcons of Nigeria to keep going after they qualified for the round of 16 at the ongoing 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
The Super Falcons played a 0-0 draw against the Republic of Ireland in their final group game fixture on Monday at Lang Park in Brisbane.
The result means Randy Waldraum’s side finished in second place in Group B with 5 points after three games and advanced to the last 16.
Reacting, Eguavoen took to his Twitter account to congratulate the Super Falcons.
He tweeted: “Congratulations to our Queens! Well done, Randy Waldrum and the entire backroom staff. We keep going.”
On his part, former Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki tweeted: “We’ve made it to the knockout stages of the #FIFAWWC! The Super Falcons have once again made us proud! Good job, ladies!
