Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf on Monday said there was no plan to boot out Emir Aminu Bayero and reinstate the deposed one, Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi II.
The governor reacted to a viral photo in the coronation hall at the government house that raised speculation that Sanusi is about to be reinstated.
Speaking through his Chief Press Secretary, Sunusi Tofa, in a statement signed and made available on Monday to newsmen, he said the history of the coronation hall is synonymous, with Mallam Muhammadu Sanusi.
According to him, “The history of the coronation hall is synonymous to the 14th Emir of Kano, Sanusi because it was built for his presentation of staff of office shortly after he was crowned as the Emir succeeding the late Alhaji Ado Bayero in 2014 during the administration of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
“So traditionally, his picture shall remain there forever.
“Bringing back the picture of the 14th Emir is part of the ongoing rehabilitation to give the coronation hall a facelift,” he further clarified.
Recall that the immediate past Kano State governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Gabduje, not only deposed Emir Sanusi but created additional four Emirate councils bringing the total number of Emirates to five.video ad______
The additional four Emirate Councils, created by Ganduje, include, Rano, Karaye, Bichi and Gaya, with the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, as the Chairman of the state Councils of Emirs.
Meanwhile, speculations are rife that the appearance of the picture of the deposed Emir of Kano on the walls of the Coronation hall is a game plan, allegedly hatched to test the reaction of residents of the state as there is no smoke without fire.
