Super Falcons midfielder, Toni Payne, has said the team will be more adventurous in their next game against Australia.
Randy Waldrum’s side held Canada to a 0-0 draw in their first game at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The Canadians dominated play in the encounter played at the Melbourne Rectangular Stadium.
The Super Falcons will need to beat the Matildas to boost their chances of securing a place in the second round.
Payne reckoned they need to adopt an attacking style against the co-hosts.
“I think we played a really defensive game against Canada,” Payne said in a short video posted on the Super Falcons Twitter handle.
“I think we expect to have the same performance against Australia, I think we expect to have more of the ball, more attacking.”
Thursday’s encounter will be played at Brisbane Stadium.
