The Police Command in Ogun says its personnel are strategically positioned along the borders and at checkpoints to arrest criminals in the state.

The Ogun Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Omolola Odutola, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Ota.

Odutola spoke against the backdrop of ammunition intercepted in the South-East on Saturday by the Nigerian Army.

She said the Nigerian Police Force in Ogun would not relent in its operations to check incessant cases of criminal activities in the state.

“Our men are strategically stationed along the borders and at all checkpoints to fight crime.

“In addition, the police will not stop checking and we will continue to check to make the state safer for the public,’’ she said.

The PPRO said, “our men are in places like Ore, Ijebu-Ode, as the Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) have embarked on daily routine patrols to ensure that these criminals were eliminated.”

Odutola said the police would always uncover the tactics of criminals, no matter how they try to outsmart the police and other security personnel.

She noted that most of the criminals hide under the guise of poverty and ignorance to commit crimes.

Odutola admonished anyone who decides to take to crime as a full-time business, saying that the fellow would definitely meet his/her Waterloo by the long arms of the law.
