Insecurity Is Destroying Fabric of Peace and Progress In Nigeria- ACNNTV

Insecurity is one of the major problems after corruption destroying the fabric of peace, welfare and developmental progress in Nigeria.

This was the summation of the panel on the daily program; “Now Streaming ” on Advent Cable Network Nigeria Television ACNNTV ( Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion owned Television).

The discussion centered on the daily harrowing reports of  maiming, kidnappings and killings going round in Nigeria and the need of finding lasting solution to it.

Dealing with the topic: State Of The Nation: ” Kidnapping and Killings In Nigeria ” the panel averted that  the menace as it had crippled the development of many parts of the nation and had contributed to  the sense of mistrust amongst Nigerians.

The panel  stated further  that Insecurity was “cancerous” “and if we must deal with it, we must go hard on it, it must be attacked wholistically …”

It said ” using a subtle attack on the government by letting those in government know that they won’t be voted in or supported anymore into offices if they do nothing about the uncontrol merciless killings i in the society.

The panel further explained that the country was like a body and when one part “is affected the entire body feels the pain.”

Itemphasized the need for the security structure to be brought down to the local level stating that “every environment has the capacity to secure itself in partnership with state actors. If, people are able to see that quick actions are taken in cases of insecurity, then they’ll be more willing to help out.”

It advised that  unless Governors “becomes serious on territorial security of their states, these issues won’t stop. There must be a quick, active and professional approach to resolving these cases of insecurity devoid of all forms of sentiments .

In terms of inequality, the panel argued that it was something that could not be thrown out of any society, “but equity can be emphasized in other to ensure fairness.

Rounding up the panel  advised that “Government must be empathetic and get serious about resolving these issues else, it’ll continue to be destructive and linger on”
