Eight suspects who aided in an attack on a police patrol vehicle in Katsina State capital have been arrested.
The spokesperson, Katsina Police Command, ASP Sadiq Abubakar, who disclosed this, said the incident occurred at about 1:00pm on Monday.
According to ASP Sadiq, the arrested suspects also aided the escape of a commercial motorcycle rider who fell off his bike while trying to escape arrest by men of the Command’s State Motor Traffic Division (MTD) discharging their lawful duty in Katsina metropolis.
However, ASP Sadiq said while the suspected offender escaped, a truck passing by crushed his motorcycle and as a result, some unscrupulous elements, hovering around the area, took laws into their hands and attacked the Police patrol vehicle.
Upon receipt of the report, the Area Commander Metro, mobilized his team to the scene and rescued the situation. The eight arrested suspects are those who aided the escape of the motorcyclist and attack on the Police patrol vehicle.
To that effect, the Police Commissioner in the State, CP Aliyu Abubakar Musa, urged the good people of the State to continue to be law-abiding and avoid taking laws into their hands. Warning that investigation is ongoing.
