It was all shades of fun last weekend as some friends, family and well wishers of the Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, gathered to celebrate his 48th birthday. The celebration coincided with Father’s Day. It will also be the Bello’s last birthday as governor as his tenure is set to end in January, 2024.

The family started the day with prayers and thanksgiving. The governor, his wife and their children all sported white flowing gowns as they offered supplications at a mosque.

Subsequently, some rams were slaughtered, and different dishes prepared to entertain guests. The governor’s home was gaily decorated with balloons of different colours and sizes. There were also many cakes for the birthday boy.

Highlights of the house party included many intimate moments the governor shared with his wife and kids, a buffet and a group dance. The interactions between the governor and his wife, as well as warm hugs with his kids showed how much of a family man the governor is. His wife who was seen beside the governor for most of the day radiated with joy. At a point, he planted a kiss on her lips to the delight of the guests present.
