Eden Hazard has suggested that he is not yet ready to retire after leaving Real Madrid.

The 32-year-old agreed to terminate his £400,00-a-week deal with Madrid 12 months early, meaning that he is available as a free agent this summer.

However, recent reports have claimed that Hazard is considering retiring from football altogether, while he has also been linked with a move to the MLS and a return to Belgium.

Hazard was given a lap of appreciation and a guard of honour at the King Baudouin Stadium on Saturday evening as Belgium drew with Austria in their Euro 2024 qualifier.

When asked about the reception he received from Belgium’s supporters and his former international teammates, Hazard told RTBF: ‘It made me happy, it’s a lot of emotion.

‘It also proves that I did a lot of good things, it’s only happiness.

‘Watching a game, I don’t like it. It’s frustrating, I want to help… but unfortunately, I can’t.

A asked about his next move, Hazard replied: ‘Honestly, I don’t know yet.

‘After three complicated years, I just want to spend time with my family, go on vacation, like everyone. We’ve read a lot of stuff in the last few days, and a lot of nonsense.’

‘I don’t know, we’ll see… I still feel capable of being a professional footballer, but at the same time, I’ve been resting for two or three years. I still have a bit of energy!’
