Leaders of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in the South West geopolitical zone have urged Dr Boniface Aniebonam to steer clear of the affairs of the party in Ogun State.
The leaders gave this warning on Friday.
Newspot learnt that Aniebonam has been parading himself as the founder of the party and has been dabbling in the affairs of the Ogun NNPP since the expulsion of the former state chairman of the party, Sunday Oginni.
Oginni was expelled from the party over anti-party affairs.
The former chairman has also been arrested by the police over alleged illegal possession following a petition addressed to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) by some members of the party.
In a statement made available to Newspot, the leaders of the party condemned the purported rejoinder written by Aniebonam to the IGP.
Prince Ademola Ayoade, who spoke on behalf of other South West leaders of NNPP, noted that Aniebonam does not have any right to write such a rejoinder.
Warning him to steer clear of NNPP affairs in Ogun State, Ayoade said: “Aniebonam should stop his plan of running parallel party affairs in Ogun State NNPP, noting that he should also stop fooling the public on the issue of being the founder of the party when it is not a private business.
“A political party is not a company or personal property; once a political party is registered, it becomes public property.
“Not every view or posting should be responded to because some people talk before reasoning or write before thinking. How can someone wake up and start insulting us? It’s time we tell him the truth.”
