*HEARTY CONGRATULATIONS TO GOVERNOR SENATOR NURUDEEN ADEMOLA JACKSON ADELEKE*
In his post judgment Press Conference today Tuesday, 9th May, 2023, His Excellency, Governor Senator Nurudeen Ademola Jackson Adeleke affirms thus….”Today is the day our God Almighty ordained to stamp His authority as the owner and giver of power”……
In the same speech he further affirmed the supremacy of the Almighty God as the ultimate decider of whom He gives power to when he said “….State power is of God and He bestows it on whomever He wishes…..”
The apex court in the land, Supreme Court of Nigeria, today, Tuesday, 9th May, 2023 has finally rested the hullabaloo surrounding the July 16th 2022 Gubernatorial election in Osun State with a clear affirmation that the mandate to rule Osun State from Sunday, 27th November, 2022 till Thursday, 26th November, 2026 squarely falls on His Excellency, Governor Senator Nurudeen Ademola Jackson Adeleke.
With the court ruling and as Democrats, the good people of Osun State have spoken; the Courts have spoken; and by inference, the Almighty God has spoken!
The entire good people of Ijesaland in all the over 206 communities from the six LGAs therefore wish to felicitate with and heartily congratulate His Excellency, Governor Senator Nurudeen Ademola Jackson Adeleke on his election victory and court affirmation.
May his administration usher in lasting peace, sustainable prosperity, impactful growth, and monumental development for all indigenes and residents of Osun State.
And may the Almighty God answer His Excellency’s prayer to which he remarked in his maiden post judgment address of offering “….the government of the people by the people and for the people…. in a God-driven administration”.
Towards this end, I will like to enjoin all Ijesas, our Imperial Majesty & Paramount Ruler; Our Royal Majesties; Our Leaders; Our Elders; Our Brothers; Our Sisters; Our Youths; and All Stakeholders in Ijesaland to please let us rally round the administration of His Excellency, Governor Senator Nurudeen Ademola Jackson Adeleke for the success of his administration. This support from us all will go a long way in ensuring that the entire Ijesaland derives optimal dividend of democracy from our political investment in His Excellency’s administration.
*5-PRAYER DEVELOPMENT AGENDA FOR IJESALAND*
As the Administration finally assumed authority in Governor’s own words and settles down for governance, it is our hope and aspiration that we in Ijesaland shall have cause to celebrate with His Excellency on the giant strides and landmarks that his administration would have succeeded in accomplishing in Ijesaland in particular and in Osun State in general at the end of his tenure.
We are very optimistic that the administration would in business-like manner embark on his massive transformation agenda for the State and in the process pay special attention to the few listed prayers among several of his lofty programmes and projects for Ijesaland.
*1.* *THE UNIVERSITY OF ILESA*
At His Excellency’s maiden visit to the University of Ilesa Campus on Thursday, 9th March, 2023 and subsequent Press Release made on his behalf by the Spokesperson to the Executive Governor, Mallam Olawale Rasheed on Friday, 10th March, 2023, the Press Release says in its first paragraph thus “The Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke has reiterated his administration’s commitment to ensuring proper establishment of the University of Ilesa as promised during his electioneering campaign of 2018 where he declared his intention to upgrade the erstwhile College of Education to a modern FIRST CLASS UNIVERSITY”.
Ijesas are trusting and very optimistic that His Excellency will support the new University with adequate resources and political will to bequeath a FIRST CLASS UNIVERSITY OF ILESA to the State in general and Ijesaland in particular at the end of his tenure.
*2.* *MINING LICENCE FOR IJESA COMMUNITY*
One of our God’s given endowments in the entire Ijesaland is the large deposit of Mining Resources such as Gold, Granite, Talc, Tantalite, Columbite, Tourmaline, etc.
Today, Ijesaland plays host to one and only Large Scale Mining Organisation in Nigeria, Segilola, but with marginal socioeconomic benefits and impacts on Ijesaland.
The Ijesaland Community has pleaded with the State’s previous administration through Ijesa Mineral Resources Development Forum (IMRDF) to kindly grant one of the Mining licences available to the State to the good people of Ijesaland in order to ensure that the people of Ijesaland from all the six LGAs participate in an economic opportunity in which their lands are endowed with.
In similar vein, seek the State’s effective intervention in curtailing the environmental degradation and health hazards associated with illegal artesenal mining practices in Ijesaland.
Ijesas are following with keen interest the laudable effort of the State Government to revalidate her existing Mining licences with the Federal Government.
Our prayer in Ijesaland is that the State Government will utilise the strategic endowments of Ijesaland in Mining Resources to industrialise the six LGAs in Ijesaland with cottage industries related to Mining Activities and Processes during his tenure.
*3.* *ILESA WATER PROJECT*
It is heartwarming that His Excellency is very aware of the importance and significance of the Ilesa Water Project to the people of the traditional, geographical, cultural, and business headquarters of Ijesa Kingdom, Ilesa as the Governor personally alluded to this in speech released on his behalf on Friday, 10th March, 2023 of his readiness to complete this project that has transited several Administrations.
There’s a popular Yoruba adage which says “Ibere kii se onise bi ki se wipe eniti o ba se de opin”. We are trusting God to provide His Excellency the desired political will to take the glory of this Ilesa Water Project by its completion during his tenure.
*4.* *YOUTHS EMPOWERMENT AND VOCATIONAL CENTRES*
Our Youths are our future!
Our Youths are our Assets!
We must continually invest in them.
The Youths unemployment statistics in Ijesaland is alarming and frightening.
No serious government anywhere could afford to pay a lip service to addressing growing army of both unemployed and underemployed Youths in our midst, especially in Ijesaland.
Establishment of adequately equipped Vocational Centers in each of our six LGAs in Ijesaland is urgently desirable.
Such Centers would focus on market-driven skills that are popularly demanded by the neighbouring communities.
His Excellency has been popularly touted as a Special Friend of the Youths across the State, especially in Ijesaland where he enjoys the best support from the Youths.
It is a pay back period for the Youths in Ijesaland to benefit from their passion and love for His Excellency by empowering them with relevant Vocational Skills Centres in Ijesaland during his tenure.
*5.* *SECURITY*
Ijesa people from their agelong merchandise and trade practice in Osomalo have always enjoyed being the best in whatever they lay their hands on.
The socio-economic indices of any society can only grow in an atmosphere and environment that’s secured.
Ijesas at home and in the diaspora are always eager to continually add value to their communal environment either through social capital investment or micro, small, & medium enterprises. But this can only be guaranteed where the State Government guarantees the security of the environment.
Since we are convinced that the administration of His Excellency, Governor Senator Nurudeen Ademola Jackson Adeleke is determined to leave an indelible mark at the end of his tenure on Thursday, 26th November, 2026 he would leave no stone unturned by effectively and efficiently securing lives and properties in the State in general and Ijesaland in particular which is the economic hub of Osun State during his tenure.
Ijesas would like to have the opportunity to widely celebrate the Dividends of Democracy cheerfully provided to Ijesaland by the Administration of Governor Senator Nurudeen Ademola Jackson Adeleke on Thursday, 26th November, 2026 when his first term comes to a productive and impactful end.
