The candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Shehu Nasiru, for the Denge-Shuni/Bodinga/Tureta Federal Constituency in Sokoto State, has been declared the winner of the 2023 elections.
Announcing the results on Sunday, the returning officer Professor Chika Muhammad of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, said the APC candidate scored a total number of 40,994 votes.
He defeated his closest opponent, the incumbent Honourable Shehu Balarabe Kakale who garnered a total number of 35,687 votes after the supplementary elections.
Kakale was elected as a member of the Federal House of Representatives in 2019 under the platform of the PDP.
