Do not allow religion disintegrate us – Ogun NNPP guber candidate to Nigerians

The gubernatorial candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), in the 18th March elections in Ogun State, Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo has appealed to Nigerians not to allow religion disintegrate the country.

He made the appeal during the maiden edition of the Ramadan lecture he organised at the weekend.

The event had the attendance of renowned Islamic cleric, Sheikh Mohammed Buhari Omo Musa, South West Public Relations Officer of NNPP, Comrade Kilamuwaye Badmus and Ogun state Public Relations Officer of NNPP, Comrade Olowu Olayemi Omokehinde

Others are; Islamic musicians and artists among whom are Sodiq Adewunmi, Alhaji Saoty Arewa, Alhaja Misturah Aderonmu Ajasa, Femo Lancaster, Fila King, Tope Indomie, Ogo Agbaye, Malik Okiki, Irawo Omonuabi, Simple, Ciro and MC Babalabule Ijoba Oro.

The NNPP candidate while addressing the gathering held at Ibafo in Ogun State said religion should not be an instrument of disintegration but of harmony and peace.

He advised citizens not to allow religion disintegrate the country but use it to unite and tolerate each other for the betterment of Nigeria.

He said, “But of recent even within religions you will see that we have factions. We should not allow religion to disintegrate us instead of uniting us, religion should not be an instrument of disintegration but of harmony and peace, religion is given to man by God for our edification and not otherwise.

“We were together and play together. Your best friend could be a Christian if you are a Muslim or Muslim if you are a Christian. Even if we have both religious as members of the same family, so we need to tolerate each other for the betterment of this entity called Nigeria”.

The guest lecturer, Sheikh Mohammed Buhari Omo Musa in his sermon called for religious tolerance among Nigerians.

He noted that religious sentiment has eaten deep into society and does not mean well for the country.

The guest lecturer then urged Nigerians to continue to pray for peaceful coexistence.
