The Nigeria Police Force is getting tough with its overzealous officers attached to some prominent Nigerians
Three of its officers sighted in a viral video misusing their firearms by shooting indiscriminately while escorting a singer of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dauda Kahutu popularly called Rarara
The Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi in a statement confirmed the arrest of the police escorts on his official Twitter handle on Sunday.
The police spokesman in the statement, disclosed that the officers were tried and found guilty and dismissed from the force for misusing of firearms, abuse of power, gross indiscipline and wastage of live ammunition.
He gave their identities as Dahiru Shuaibu, an Inspector; Abdullahi Badamasi, a sergeant and Isah Danladi, also a sergeant.
‘The punishment to the officers is to serve as a deterrent to others as the police will not tolerate any form of misconduct or unprofessionalism from any officer irrespective of his or her rank’, the statement read.
