Nigerian superstar, Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has rallied support for his colleague, David Adeleke, known better as Davido, asking his fans to stream the latter’s new album.
The PUNCH reports that Davido’s much-awaited album, ‘Timeless’, amassed one million streams on Boomplay in just six hours after it was released on the streaming platform on Friday.
The album is also currently the No. 1 album on Nigeria’s Top Albums Chart, UK’s Top Albums Chart as well as in 17 other countries on Apple Music
Davido announced the release of the 17-track album on his social media pages in the early hours of Friday.
But Wizkid, in a show of support for Davido’s album, asked his fans to stream the afrobeat superstar’s much-awaited album.
Wizkid made the call in a post on his Instagram and Twitter pages on Friday.
“Inside. Y’all go listen to Timeless by my brother davido,” he wrote.
This is the first time Wizkid has made a post about Davido’s album since the latter did so in 2011.
The post by Wizkid may finally put to rest the alleged beef between the duo and their fans who openly engaged each other on several social media platforms.
Speaking on the album, Davido said, “At long last – WE are back. The journey from my last album to this album has been a whirlwind to say the least. I recall sitting & staring over the ocean not too long ago, wondering if I could get here again, after all I’ve been through… but with your love & support, we made it.
“I’m not sure what comes after this but I wanted to give you my heart, soul and energy. Today I present you “TIMELESS”. ⏳
