The decision of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship candidate in the just-concluded election in Cross River State, Prof Sandy Onor to challenge the victory of APC governorship victory at the poll, is laughable and frivolous.

Chairman of the APC campaign council in the state, Chief Okoi Obono-Obla in a statement dismissed the vow Sandy Onor’s to proceed to the Election Petition Tribunal, saying such intention is a mere blustery.

Obono-Obla submitted that Senator Onor was overwhelmingly defeated by Senator Bassey Otu of the APC to clinch the victory.

“Senator Onor was fairly, squarely and indeed overwhelmingly defeated. He lost his Etung local government area but miserably and marginally won only in Ogoja, Bekwarra, and Ikom.”

He described Onor’s defeat as a dismal performance.

He said the APC are not afraid of the Election Tribunal, vowing that they shall match him grit to grit when he eventually files his petition.

Yesterday, Onor rejected the result of the election, vowing to seek redress in court, more than a week after INEC had declared the result.

According to him, the result of the poll was characterized by gross irregularities.

Onor described the outcome of the election as a charade, stressing that the result is unacceptable
