Ahead of Saturday’s governorship election, the leaderships of the All Progressives Congress and the Labour Party in Delta State have been claiming superiority among the electorate in the state.

In an interview with The PUNCH, the chairman of Labour Party in Delta state, Chief Anthony Ezeagwu, expressed hope that the people of the state would perform the same feat for the party as they did during the presidential election.

He said, “It’s quite interesting.  You saw what happened on the 25th of February.  That’s exactly what will happen on the 11th of March. ”

However, the Director of Communications, Governorship Campaign Council of All Progressives Congress in Delta State, Mr. Ima Niboro, told our correspondent that APC is confident that with the massive support it is presently enjoying among the teeming masses across the state insisting that the table will turn against the ruling PDP in the state on Saturday.

Niboro noted that the majority of the credible members of PDP in Delta State have already decamped into APC alongside their supporters.

Niboro said, “We are in a pole position to win. None of the other candidates has the pedigree, experience, or track record of our candidate. It was no mistake that we won two out of three Senate seats in Delta. Even the Delta North that we failed to clinch we will challenge on good grounds. Only today, we reached an agreement to work with in broad coalition with the Ohaneze Ndi’gbo and a cross section of Obidients of Delta state to deliver the governorship for senator Ovie Omo-Agege

Like I said, we are in a pole position to win, and win we shall. ”

Our correspondent gathered that the leadership of both APC and the ruling PDP in Delta state are currently busy wooing the Labour Party adherents with a view to diverting them to their respective sides at the Saturday’s Governorship election.
