Yobe State Government has reviewed the operating hours of tricycle operators across the 17 local government areas of the state.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Special Adviser on Security Affairs to the Governor, Dahiru Abdulsalam.
The statement said the review was sequel to improved security across the state and to ease the difficulties experienced by commuters due to the current 6:00pm time limit for the operation of commercial tricycles.
“Accordingly, I am directed to convey that the operating hours for commercial tricycle riders are now reviewed from 6:00am to 8:00pm daily with effect from Friday, 3rd March 2023.
“In view of this development, the Executive Governor of Yobe State enjoins all security agencies in the State to ensure compliance with this directive”, Brig Gen. Abdulsalam stated.
The SA on Security Affairs also tasked the leadership of the National Commercial Tricycle and Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association (NACTOMORAS), Yobe State Chapter to be cautious and give its maximum cooperation towards the implementation and compliance with the new directive.
Recall that, in Yobe State, tricycle operators had been mandated to operate from 6am to 6pm daily.
However, with the upward review, drivers and passengers will now enjoy 14 hours of Tricycle operations.
