Arsenal star Kieran Tierney is open to joining Newcastle United this summer after falling out of favour at the Emirates.
The former Celtic captain moved south of the border in 2019, joining the Gunners in a £25m move from the Bhoys.
While there’s no doubting Tierney’s quality, he’s struggled with injury throughout his time at the Emirates.
That persuaded Mikel Arteta to sign Oleksandr Zinchenko for £32m last summer and the Ukraine international has been Arsenal’s first choice left-back this term.
That’s limited Tierney to just four Premier League starts this term and at the age of 25, the Scot is desperate for regular first-team football.
Eddie Howe is keen to bolster his ranks this summer and knows that, regardless of where Newcastle finish, the Magpies need greater strength in depth to continue to progress.
That would afford Tierney a chance to return closer to his native Glasgow, while his chances of first team football would be far greater with Newcastle.
Arteta will not stand in Tierney’s way but would prefer to keep the Scot.
