Manchester United and Newcastle are applying the final touches to their Carabao Cup final preparations ahead of this afternoon’s showpiece.

The first domestic trophy of the season is on offer at Wembley, with thousands of fans making the long journey down from the north west and the north east.

Manchester United are looking to win their first trophy since their Europa League triumph in 2017, which came just a few months after they beat Southampton in the League Cup final.

The Magpies have been waiting significantly longer to get their hands on some major silverware, having last done so with the FA Cup back in 1955.

Here is everything you need to know about this year’s Carabao Cup final.

What time does the Carabao Cup final kick-off?

Manchester United vs Newcastle will kick-off today (Sunday, February 26) at 4.30pm.

If the score is level after 90 minutes, extra-time and if needed, penalties, will be used to determine the winner.

How to watch on TV and live stream

The Carabao Cup final will be shown live on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Football.

Sky customers can live stream the final on the Sky Sports website and via the Sky Go app.

Fans without Sky Sports will still be able to watch the game by purchasing a NOW TV day pass for £11.98.

How to listen on radio

BBC Radio 5 Live and talkSPORT will both have live radio commentary of the final in the UK.

How many times have the two clubs won the League Cup?

Manchester United have won five League Cups in their illustrious history since its inauguration in 1960.

The win over Southampton six years ago is their most recent triumph in the competition, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic scoring the winner in the 87th minute to seal a 3-2 win.

Their previous victories came in 1992, 2006, 2009 and 2010.

Newcastle are yet to get off the mark in the League Cup with their best result being the runners-up spot in 1976, losing 2-1 to Manchester City in the final.
