Eligible voters have commenced casting their ballots in some parts of Bwari Area Council, Abuja.

The exercise, which commenced at about 8 am, has a large turnout of electorates who vowed to remain at their various polling units to ensure that their votes were counted.

Newspot visited some of the polling units and gathered that the officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, were on ground as the process continued peacefully.

A voter, Innocent Agaba, who spoke with our correspondent at a polling unit behind the Law School, Bwari, said he was the first person to cast his vote in the area.

He expressed optimism that the exercise would end as expected.

“So far, it has been going on well. I was the first person in this polling unit to cast his vote.

“I have voted but I’m not going anywhere until my vote is counted”, he vowed.
