A member of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Mohammed Hassan, says the APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, has moved on and holds no grudge against Naja’atu Mohammed, who resigned as the Director of Civil Societies of the APC PCC.
Addressing newsmen at the ‘CSOs Pre-Election Roundtable’ in Abuja on Wednesday, Hassan said Naja’atu, who exited the APC in a controversial manner, was not being missed by anyone in Tinubu’s camp.
Naja’atu had dumped the APC, saying she could not, in good conscience, continue to work for or support Tinubu, because, according to her, the APC’s presidential candidate was unhealthy and lacked the mental alertness to govern Nigeria.
But Hassan, who was represented by the Secretary of Renewed Hope Ambassadors and a member of the PCC, Okpokwu Ogenyi, said there was no truth in Naja’atu’s claims about Tinubu.
He added that neither Tinubu nor members of the APC bore any grudges against Naja’atu, as they had moved on from that episode.
He said, “Our principal has no grudge against Naja’atu Mohammed neither do we, as Directorate of the APC Presidential Campaign. She came in to serve and opted out when she considered it best to leave. All Naja’atu said about Asiwaju, I won’t say she is lying, are not true.
“I said this in the sense that Asiwaju recently participated in an interactive session with other presidential candidates and he performed excellently well. I can tell you that I spent four hours with him and have seen him drinking his tea himself while interacting with people. He is even stronger and healthier than many younger persons that I know.
“We and our principal, therefore, hold no grudge against Naja’atu. She has done her best and left us. We, on our own part, have also moved on. As you can see, we have done about three programmes in her absence.”
Hassan also noted that to further show that they harboured no hatred against her, nobody in the civil societies directorate celebrated Naja’atu’s removal from the list of coordinators selected by the Police Service Commission to monitor the conduct of policemen during the coming polls.
