Joao Felix has reacted to the record fee paid by Chelsea to sign Enzo Fernandez from Benfica on the winter transfer deadline day.
The Portuguese defended the £106 million spent to bring the Argentine World Cup winner to Stamford Bridge, noting that it is becoming normal to spend such a mammoth fee on players.
Chelsea smashed the British transfer record to lure the Argentine highly-rated central midfielder and allow Jorginho to switch to Arsenal.
But Felix feels the midfielder’s talent justifies the price tag when asked if he was surprised.
“It is becoming more and more normal for amounts like this to be spent,” he told AS.
“Football has changed, and it will be common for amounts of £80m, £90m, £100m, £110m to be paid.
“He deserves that valuation because he is a young player, he is very good…”
