Nigerians are waking up daily to newl pump price of petrol. All over the country oil marketers now sell fuel between N270 to N300  per liter.

From Ibadan to Enugu and Kano, prices of fuel are no longer regulated. This is from newspot correspondents.

In addition to this arbitrary hike in fuel pump prices has added to the people deplorable conditions in social services as irregular supply of electricity  is forcing many to go for stand by generators powered by petrol in many homes, arbitrary hike in transport fares by commercial vehicles and astronomically rise in food prices.

Madam Kofo Atinuke summed it up: ” We are living in a lawless society where anything goes. You watch citizens of this country  going about smiling and suffering.  Kidnapping is a big business where millions of naira are being paid as ransom and those paying are being subjected into a pitiable state of penury.”

Mr Kareem Lasisi an oil marketer said: ” We are being forced to increase pump prices because the rate we buy from the international market makes our profit so marginal that if we keep selling below N200 it will amount to huge loss. The government should be sincere about this subsidy.. We will have no choice to start selling above N300 per litre .”
