Three teenage kidnappers demand N2m for Kano girl

Three teenagers who allegedly kidnapped a six-year-old girl in Kano State and demanded N2m as ransom for her release have been arrested by the Katsina State Police Command.

The spokesman for the command, SP Gambo Isah, in a statement, identified the three suspects, who were all 19-year-old, as Abdulrazaq Ibrahim, Aliyu Salisu, and Muhammed Ibrahim.

The police revealed that the three teenagers kidnapped the victim, Fatima Abubakar, on January 6,2023, and brought her to Katsina.

They thereafter demanded a ransom of N2m for her release.

The police spokesman added that upon the receipt of credible intelligence on the incident, operatives of the command swung into action, which led to the arrest of Salisu when he was about collecting the money.

Further investigation led to the arrest of the other two suspects.

“Investigation is ongoing,” Isah said.
