Nigerian singer, Ọlawale Ọlọfọrọ, better known as Brymo, has been heavy fire on social media over his remark on Igbo presidency.

Brymo, a staunch supporter of APC Presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, had joined a discourse about the 2023 election on Twitter when he stated that he would rather have a sick president than Peter Obi.

“Which then leaves me with PO … and I’d rather an ailing one than possible anarchy !!”, he wrote in response to a tweep.

He added that Peter Obi should organize his home front in Anambra state before contesting for the presidency.

The “Ara” crooner further stated that the only option for an Igbo candidate is to become the Vice President of Nigeria to ‘test the waters’.

Responding to a tweeps’s argument, Brymo wrote,

“Don’t respect my intelligence nor choices… you are trying to not accept resolve… argue more then… pls …. It is not prudent to elect him yet, he may have to vividly organise his home-front to lead rest of us… an Igbo VP first maybe to test the waters with the region is safer!”

His statement infuriated a lot of people, especially supporters of Labour Party Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and they didn’t mince words to express their displeasure with him, and labelled him a political bigot.

An angry fan even went as far as adding “bigot” to his Wikipedia profile. However, the derogatory word has been removed by the platform.
