The Federal Minister of Works and Housing of Nigeria, Babatunde Raji Fashola, im a criticsl appraisal of former Nigeria president, Olusegun Obasanjo’s, new year open letter to the youth said Obasanjo could do little or nothing on Lagos- Abeokuta road.
Babatunde Raji Fashola, who is also a member of the ruling party, said in an interview. when asked by the interviewer when work would commence on the Lagos-Abeokuta express road. He replied saying that work has commenced.
He said that the person who had been writing letters (referring to Obasanjo), couldn’t do anything despite the fact that it was the road leading to his house. After 16 years of him being in government, it was Buhari who later repaired the road to his house
“The person who has been writing letters, he is there. It’s the road to his house, and he didn’t do anything.
He didn’t spend money on it. It is Buhari who later repaired the road after he spent 16 years in government. Even the person he endorsed now, was he not there those times? We will build the roads one by one”, he said.
Fashola further stated that there is no single state in Nigeria where the government is not working or has not worked on at least one road
Recall that the ex-president on Sunday, the 1st of January, 2023, wrote an open letter to Nigerian, especially Nigerian youths, telling them that their destiny is in their hands.
Obasanjo endorsed his most preferred presidential candidate in the letter and also criticized the current administration of president Buhari, stating that Nigerians are ‘living in hell’ in the Buhari government.
