As Europe’s biggest clubs circle for Jude Bellingham, he prefers a move to Real Madrid over his options in the Premier League, according to reports in Spain.
The 19-year-old was one of the stars of the World Cup, producing a number of impressive displays in the middle of England’s midfield on their run to the quarter-finals.
There was already plenty of interest in the Borussia Dortmund star before the tournament in Qatar, with Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United all keen on him, while Paris Saint-Germain have also made it clear they would like to sign him.
There looks likely to be a huge bidding war for the amazing teenager in the summer as the richest clubs on the planet fight it out for his signature, but reports in Spain suggest that Bellingham himself may prevent it.
Spanish publication AS report that Bellingham’s preferred move is to Real Madrid and if he makes that feeling clear to the other interested parties then they may bow out of the race to sign him.
Even without a bidding war, though, Bellingham would not come cheap, having established himself as one of the brightest young talents in world football.
With Bellingham under contract until 2025, Dortmund will likely be asking for a sum of around £100m to let him leave this summer.
Real Madrid are keen to complete their new midfield jigsaw with the signing of Bellingham, adding him to their young collection of Federcio Valverde (24), Eduardo Camavinga (20) and Aurelien Tchouameni (22), with veteran stars Luka Modric and Toni Kroos nearing the end of their careers at the Santiago Bernabeu.
