Dusan Vlahovic is open to leaving Juventus in January with Arsenal monitoring his situation in Turin.

Arsenal were eager to sign the Serbia international last January amid his prolific season for Fiorentina, having scored 20 times for the Serie A side before February.

While the Gunners were ready to spend big to bring him to the Emirates, Vlahovic opted to remain in Italy, joining Juventus in a £58million deal.

The Bianconeri have endured a tumultuous 2022 however, sat 10 points off the top of the league, eliminated from the Champions League and with off-field issues leaving the club floundering.

In November, the club’s entire board of directors, including president Andrea Agnelli and vice-president Pavel Nedved, resigned from their posts with the club under investigation for alleged false accounting.

It has led to the futures of a number of Juventus stars coming under scrutiny with The Times reporting Vlahovic is among those considering an exit. The 28-year-old is said to be open to a move away from Turin either next month or in the summer with Arsenal keeping tabs.

Recent reports in Italy have also suggested Manchester United have entered the race for Vlahovic, with Erik ten Hag eager to bring in a centre forward in January with Anthony Martial his only recognised option through the middle.

United are said to be preparing a €50million offer for PSV Eindhoven star Cody Gakpo but Vlahovic could represent a more natural fit to lead the line.

Since moving to Juventus, Vlahovic has scored 16 goals and provided four assists in 36 appearances and recently represented Serbia at the World Cup.

Arsenal will be without Gabriel Jesus until March after the Brazil international underwent knee surgery.

Looking for solutions up front, Arsenal are also interested in signing Mykhailo Mudryk to boost their forward options with Shakhtar Donetsk’s deputy sporting director Carlo Nicolini recently confirming the Gunners’ interest.

‘Many clubs have taken an indirect interest in Mudryk, without an official offer. There have been a lot of phone calls’ he said.

‘I believe that today the Italian teams find it difficult to take a profile like this, both for what it is worth and for the lack of courage in investing in such a profile.’
