Bala, reshuffle your commissioners

As one of the Peoples Democratic Party loyalists in the state, I can’t continue to pave the path for the destruction of our great party both at the state and national levels. Therefore, drawing the attention of the Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, to urgently reshuffle his cabinet is important for the purpose of inclusive governance in the state.

Governor Mohammed should note that he is seeking governorship for the second time in the state and he should prevent anything that can slightly hamper your victory in the forthcoming general elections.  As such, it’s very essential to let the governor understand that the Toro people are not pleased with the appointment of commissioners he made in the state recently.

To hit the nail on the head, the Toro people are facing serious segregation in your administration. This is in terms of political appointments, infrastructural developments and non-enjoyment of democratic dividends since day one. Precisely, Toro hasn’t been carried along compared to other local governments in the state.

Nonetheless, it is no gainsaying that Toro Local Government is one of the most populous local governments in the state and has contributed greatly toward the democratic development of the state. However, the Toro Local Government has three districts, namely Lame, Toro and Jama’a, making it the most populous local government in the state.

Out of the three districts, only one district is carried along. The lame district has three offices in the State Executive Council. The lame district has a commissioner, a director of public procurement and a Special Adviser on Youth to the governor.

This brings about a serious controversy between Toro and Jama’a districts.  A lot of people are saying the appointment is not balanced and also segregated. How could such appointments be allocated to a single district?

However, the situation has given the Toro people sleepless nights thinking that the governor is not with them.

If care is not taken many people in the local government will make a U-turn from the governor’s wagon in the forthcoming elections. Hence the need is to have inclusive governance in the state.

Therefore, I am calling on the governor to reshuffle his cabinets and give each local government and district a sense of belonging in the State Executive Council for the betterment of the good people of Bauchi State. Doing so will provide inclusive governance for the state as well as make the people of Bauchi State give you their mandate for the second time.
