Rio Ferdinand has made a fresh plea urging Jude Bellingham to snub Real Madrid, Liverpool and Chelsea in favour of a move to Manchester United.

Bellingham is one of the most highly-rated young players in world football, having starred for Borussia Dortmund and England over the past two years.

The 19-year-old, who impressed for England at the Qatar World Cup, has made more than 100 appearances for Dortmund since his move from Birmingham City in 2020.

A number of top European clubs are interested in signing Bellingham, with Real Madrid said to be ‘confident’ of beating the likes of Man United, Liverpool and Chelsea to a deal worth more than £100m.

But Ferdinand still has hope that Bellingham will end up at his former club Manchester United and has urged the midfielder to make Old Trafford his ‘home’.

‘Jude Bellingham has been a phenomenon at the World Cup,’ Ferdinand said on his YouTube channel. ‘He has announced himself to the world now that he’s a player here to say.

‘He has got so much growth, room for improvement still, but he absolutely influenced games in an England shirt like we’ve never seen a teenager do for England.

‘Manchester United, bring him here. Make that your home, Jude. You come and help change shift the culture and take the club to the heights it should be at!’

‘He’s been flying the flag abroad, he’s done his bit in Germany, it’s time to come home baby.’

Ferdinand’s former Manchester United team-mate Louis Saha has also urged Bellingham to sign for the Red Devils and insists he would be ‘perfect’ for Erik ten Hag’s side.

‘For quite a few years now, United have been a team who have lacked energy and fitness in games, and have been outrun in matches, which is not normal if you’re trying to return to the top, so that is something that Bellingham would be able to bring in if he came to United,’ Saha told Paddy Power.

‘Jude would be able to pick out the right passes to the more agile players, in a similar way to what Bruno Fernandes does by being a box-to-box midfielder.

‘Manchester United would be an incredibly tough team to defend against if they had Jude Bellingham and Bruno Fernandes in midfield together, with Casemiro sitting behind them as cover for the defenders.

‘I would love to see Jude Bellingham at Manchester United, not only as a fan but also because he’d be the perfect fit in the midfield.’

Ten Hag’s side play their first competitive game in over a month on Wednesday night as they face Championship leaders Burnley in the last-16 of the League Cup.
