The 22-year-old enjoyed an impressive World Cup campaign with Ajax, scoring twice in three appearances in Qatar.
The Ghanaian joined Ajax in 2020 and made 43 appearances under Ten Hag before his appointment at Old Trafford.
Kudus is capable of playing as a centre forward or in an attacking midfield position, while he’s also spent time this season on the right of a front three for Ajax.
United terminated Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract earlier this month after the 37-year-old’s decision to give a controversial interview to Piers Morgan.
Discarding of Ronaldo has saved United £500,000-a-week and keeping him for the remainder of the season would have seen United spend a further £16m in wages on the Portuguese star.
Nevertheless, the club are wary of breaching FFP rules after their £220m spend last summer, which included the likes of Lisandro Martinez, Casemiro and Christian Eriksen.
Kudus would fetch around £45m in the market and he’s keen on a move to the Premier League, with the Athletic saying Ten Hag is a firm admirer.
The Dutchman feels United are now short in attack, though he’s confident in Anthony Martial’s ability to suit his system should the Frenchman remain fit.
Cody Gakpo, the PSV forward, is another target and his manager Ruud van Nistelrooy admitted on Saturday that he could leave next month.
‘There comes a time when you can’t say no anymore,’ said Van Nistelrooy.
