England and Spain are the only other teams who have reached the pinnacle of the global game with one win apiece.
This means that out of the 21 previous editions of the FIFA World Cup, South American sides have won 9 titles with three different countries.

England’s one and only World Cup win famously came in 1966.
Sir Alf Ramsey’s side beat West Germany 4-2 after extra time in front of almost 97,000 spectators at Wembley stadium on July 30.
Geoff Hurst scored the only ever World Cup final hat-trick to hand England the Jules Rimet trophy.
Since that legendary day in the summer of 1966, England’s best results in the World Cup have been the semi-final stage at Italia 1990 and Russia 2018.
