The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Nasarawa State, David Ombugadu, has promised a free health insurance scheme for indigent people of the state if he is elected into office in 2023.
Ombugadu disclosed this during the party’s campaign in Nasarawa Local Government Area of the state on Sunday.
He said, “Health is wealth, so if I am elected as governor in 2023, I will ensure that residents of the state especially the indigent ones enjoy good health care.
“The widows, orphans and other vulnerable people in the state will be the first to be considered in the health insurance scheme because I understand their challenges.”
The PDP candidate also promised to construct the road linking Doma – Nasarawa LGAs to the Federal Capital Territory if he got the mandate.
On his part, the Nasarawa State PDP Chairman, Francis Orogu, expressed optimism to win the Nasarawa West senatorial seat vacated by Senator Abdullahi Adamu, and other political seats in the state.
Our correspondent reports that Adamu vacated the seat as the senator representing the zone when he was elected as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in March, 2022.
Also speaking at the event, former Minister of Information and the Director-General of the state PDP campaign, Labaran Maku, called on residents of the state to vote for all candidates of the PDP in the coming elections.
