Manchester United captain, Harry Maguire has revealed that the club’s boss, Erik Ten Hag has been sending him messages ahead of England’s quarter final clash with France.

The Three Lions face their biggest test so far in Qatar when they meet France in a quarter-final clash on Friday and Maguire believes that Erik ten Hag will be supporting The Netherlands, who are also up against Argentina on the same day.

England’s hopes of winning the World Cup again now depend on the outcome of the quarter-finals clash with high-flying French side led by PSG star, Kylian Mbappe, who has already scored five goals at the tournament.

Bleus are the second favourites to lift the trophy and retain their title, behind Brazil, and are spearheaded by perhaps the deadliest forward in the world right now, Kylian Mbappe.

Maguire has been in spectacular form for Gareth Southgate’s side in Qatar, helping them keep three clean sheets at the World Cup.

He said that Ten Hag has been sending him messages of congratulations throughout the tournament.

“But I have had a couple of nice texts from them saying how well I’ve performed and congratulations on reaching the quarter-finals. It’s nice,” he told a post match press conference on Wednesday.

“I am sure they’ll be watching the games but Erik will be supporting the Oranje army. It is good to feel the support of them.”
