The England superstar has lit up the World Cup with a string of fantastic performances.
The 19-year-old was already one of the hottest prospects in world football before his displays in Qatar but his status has gone to the next level in the last fortnight.
Bellingham rejected the chance to join Manchester United in 2020 in favour of a move to Dortmund, where he’s been a regular for the last three years.
United are again interested in signing Bellingham, with the midfielder expected to leave Dortmund at the end of the season.
But Liverpool, Real Madrid and Manchester City lead the race for his signature as the Bundesliga side seek around £130m for the teenager.
And Ferdinand believes it’ll be the blue half of Manchester that are successful in their pursuit of Bellingham.
‘I think he will [join Manchester City], yeah,’ Ferdinand said on the Vibe with Five YouTube channel.
‘He’ll say, “listen, I’ve got a couple of mates there, English boys. I can go to Madrid in five years,”‘
‘There’s no rush. I just think he thinks: “you know what, I’m the superstar. I’m going to win the Premier League, because I’m an English-born boy”.
‘And then I’ll go to Madrid and I’ll do the same there in a few years.’
