Former Arsenal midfielder, Jack Wilshere has warned England about his ex-Gunners team-mate Olivier Giroud who is ‘in the shape of his life’ for France at the ongoing 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Giroud has made history at this year’s World Cup, becoming France’s all-time record scorer after their 3-0 win over Poland in the round of 16 on Sunday.

The AC Milan attacker, who used to play for Chelsea and Arsenal in the Premier League, has netted three goals for France in four games so far in Qatar.

Speaking ahead of England’s World Cup quarter-final tie with France on Saturday, Wilshere told The Sun, “What about my old Arsenal team-mate Olivier Giroud.

“If anything, the AC Milan striker has gotten better since moving to Italy and leaving the Premier League behind, where he struggled to get a starting place.

“He is in his mid-30s, but he is in the shape of his life and his finish for the first goal against Poland was real class.”
