The Sokoto state Tricycles Riders Association has organised a solidarity walk rally in support of the governorship candidate of the party in the state, Ahmad Sokoto, and other APC candidates in the coming elections.
The rally which was organised under the leadership of the union, Sa’adu Asadda, was according to the chairman described as a mark of respect and appreciation for what former governor of the state, Senator Aliyu Wamakko did to them during his administration as the governor of the state.
He said the rally, was among others, to reawaken the members of the association to mobilise more support for the victory of APC in the state.
He recalled that when Wamakko was the governor, he brought tricycles to Sokoto State as a way of curving youth restiveness where many among them had benefited from the gesture.
In a related development, another group of youths from Gagi C ward of Sokoto South Local Government had organised a similar rally from Mabera Area to Gawon Nama, the residence of Wamakko who is also the APC leader in the state.
Speaking in his remarks, the leader of the group, Mallam Kabiru Mabera, assured Wamakko that in Gagi C, APC they would ensure more support for the APC across the state.
One of the leaders of the association, Abdullahi Mabera, also said in his remarks that, APC in the state is becoming “widely accepted,” hence the need to mobilise more support for its emergence.
The APC governorship candidate, commended the leadership of the associations for the rally.
He explained that, if given the mandate and elected as governor of the state, he would provide access roads in Mabera area for the economic growth in the state.
Also Wamakko thanked both leaders for their effort towards supporting APC in the state and called on them to always ensure they safeguard their Permanent Voter’s Cards and not allow anyone to get access to it.
He urged them to vote for all APC candidates during the election in the state and the country at large.
