The All Progressives Congress, Oyo State chapter has presented flags of the party to 41 candidates vying for various electives offices in the state.
The state party chairman, Isaac Omodewu, while presenting the flags during the inaugural campaign ceremony which was held at the mainbowl of Oba Lamidi Adeyemi mini stadium in Oyo town, admonished the candidates to work relentlessly and ensure that the party wom all elective offices in 2023 elections.
Omodewu said all the party candidates, include its governorship, Senator Teslim Folarin, had political records of excellence performance.
He said it was high time the people liberate the state from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, adding that the only way to do that was through their votes.
The party chairman said, “I urge our people to go and collect their Permanent Voter Cards. This is the only legal weapon to eject non-performing governor and his co-travelers from the office.”
Omodewu, therefore, described the pairing of Bola Tinubu and Kashim Shetima as the right choice for Nigeria, especially during this her trying period.
While receiving over 2000 members of the New Nigeria People’s Party into the APC, Omodewu said their decision to team up with the party is hinged on the credibility of its members.
In his address, the governorship candidate of the party, Senator Teslim Folarin, commended the efforts of Senator Femi Lanlehin Reconciliatory Committee, saying the presence of notable leaders of the party at the event was a testimony that the efforts of the committee have begun to yield positive results.
He assured members of an all inclusive government, adding that this was the only way to salvage the present situation.
The inauguration campaign ceremony had in attendance the state former deputy governor, Engineer Rauf Olaniyan; Barrister Iyiola Oladokun; Senator Musiliu Obanikoro; and host of others.
