The chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, Prince Gboyega Famoodun, on Monday, reportedly emerged the new Owa of Igbajo.
Famoodun, it was gathered was elected by the kingmakers and the election was subsequently ratified at the State Executive Council at its meeting.
With his appointment, Prince Famoodun will succeed the late Oba Olufemi Fasade, who died in December 2020.
Father of the Owa-Elect, Oba Adelani Famoodun, occupied the throne before the late Oba Fasade.
The former Osun State Commissioner for Information, who is also an indigene of Igbajo, Sunday Akere, confirmed Famoodun’s election by the kingmakers and his appointment by the state government.
