The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, has accused Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party of fighting former President Olusegun Obasanjo when he served as his deputy between 1999 and 2007.
Speaking during the inauguration of the Delta State APC governorship campaign in Warri on Saturday, Tinubu claimed Atiku fought Obasanjo during their tenure.
Tinubu was accompanied to Delta by top bigwigs of the party including the governorship candidate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege and his deputy, Hon. Friday Osanebi.
Tinubu in his address, reminded the people of Delta of the dearth of industries in the state, warning that voting for the ruling PDP in the state again would amount to continuation of 23 years of underdevelopment of Delta State.
Tinubu decried in strong terms the alleged downward trend of industrial development in Delta saying, “Warri is going down. They don’t know the way; they don’t have the vision, the brain, the knowledge, the road to prosperity.”
Tinubu spoke further, “Go to Lagos and see development and records of beautiful people. Hope is here, development is here, progress is here, Omo-Agege is here and prosperity is here.
“These people year after year; election after election, lie to you. They borrow money and celebrate market stalls. Where is the housing industry? Where is the opportunity to create jobs? They don’t have shame!
“Our rivals don’t have shame. They fight in public. How can they think governance?”
“When Atiku was there, he was fighting his boss in public. They were telling us how they spent PTF money to buy cars for their girlfriends. Do they have shame? Will you vote for them again?”
While maintaining that his electoral campaign promises would come to reality, Tinubu assured Nigerians, especially the youths that their dreams for a stable united Nigeria would be fulfilled.
“I will fulfil promises to you. You are the future of this country. Your dreams will be realised for a stable united Nigeria”, he declared.
Also present were Tinubu’s wife, Senator Pastor Remi; the vice-presidential candidate, Kassim Shettima; the Senate President, Ahmed Lawan; former National Chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole; Governor of Plateau State and Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Simon Lalong; Governor of Imo state, Hope Uzodinma; National Chairman of the party, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, represented; the APC Delta State chairman, Elder Omeni Sobotie, the Director-General of the Delta State Campaign Organisation, Elder Godsday Orubebe; Dr. Alex Ideh, Delta South Senatorial candidate, Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, Delta Central Senatorial candidate, Chief Ede Dafinone; Senator Peter Nwaboshi: former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio; as well as the Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Hon.
