Erik ten Hag’s side travel to Craven Cottage looking for a victory before the Premier League pauses for the World Cup.
The game will see United come up against former midfielder Pereira for the first time since his £10m move to Fulham last summer.
The Brazilian spent close to 11 years at United as he came through the ranks at Old Trafford.
Pereira’s made an impressive start in west London, scoring twice and providing four assists.
And Fred says United must keep the playmaker quiet if they’re to get anything out of the game.
‘I think he’s doing really well at Fulham, he’s a great player,’ said Fred.
‘Everyone knows how good he is. We played together here for some time, he was at Flamengo in Brazil where he did well, I was following him there.”
‘Now he’s back here with Fulham and having a great season in the Premier League. Great player, we know his quality, but we have to play our game, we know the qualities of their players, but we need to play our game and get the win.’
United are set to be without Cristiano Ronaldo for the trip to Craven Cottage.
The 37-year-old missed the Carabao Cup win against Aston Villa on Thursday and was not part of the 20-man squad that travelled to the capital on Saturday night.
Anthony Martial is back in contention, though Antony and Jadon Sancho are set to miss out.
