Actors and other celebrities showed up for the private screening of the first episode of a new 13-part Showmax original series titled, ‘Flawsome’, on November 11, 2022, at the Alliance Francaise, Ikoyi, Lagos. The screening was part of activities for the 11th Africa International Film Festival.
The event, which was hosted by media personality, Victoria Eze, aka Miz Vick, was attended by the director, Tola Odunsi; and members of cast such as Enado Odigie, Bisola Aiyeola, Sharon Ooja, Gabriel Afolayan, Iretiola Doyle, Baaj Adebule, Shine Rosman and Shawn Faqua.
Speaking during the occasion, Odunsi said, “Showmax is made for Africans, and everything we produce is geared to suit the audience. Most women can relate to the stories in the series.
“I feel lost for words. I am happy that everyone is finally seeing this beautiful work we have released. Women face several challenges, and we wanted to tell a deeper story that explores these issues.”
The Chief Operating Officer of AFRIFF, Theo Ukpa, added that 90 per cent of people in the audience could relate to the series.
During a question and answer session, the lead characters in the series– Enado Odigie, Bisola Aiyeola and Sharon Ooja— noted that being on set together was a wonderful experience. More than once, they discussed scenes that were so intense that they cried afterwards.”
The drama series revolves around the lives of four women trying to navigate their personal and professional lives, while battling challenges of being woman climbing the professional ladder.
Other entertainers at the event were Kunle Afolayan, Ireti Doyle, Sola Sobowale and Toke Makinwa.
