The Federal High Court sitting in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, on Friday, November 11, struck out the certificates forgery case against the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno.
It could be recalled that one of the governorship aspirants of the PDP had dragged the party’s flagbearer to court, alleging forgery in WAEC, voter’s card and birth certificates and prayed the court to disqualify Umo Eno as the candidate and make him the candidate as the next highest votes scorer.
Delivering her judgement this evening, Justice Agatha Okeke dismissed the case for lacking in merit.
The judge said all the claims by the plaintiff were based on assumption and speculations.
She, therefore, awarded a cost of N15 million against the plaintiff Akan Okon.
“All the claims made by the plaintiff were based on assumptions and suppositions. The suit is dismissed for want of merit. I enter judgment in favour of the defendant and award a cost of N15 million against the plaintiff,” she ruled.
