The Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory, Dr. Ramatu Aliyu, says the administration is committed to ensuring the empowerment of vulnerable people in society in light of recent economic realities.

Dr Aliyu said this at the graduation ceremony and presentation of start-up tools to 100 beneficiaries of the 2022 women empowerment programme of the Nigerian Breweries Women Empowerment Programme, held in Abuja on Thursday.

The Minister, who was represented by the Director of Administration and Finance of the Area Councils Services Secretariat, Mrs. Omolola Olanipekun, affirmed the administration’s support for the implementation of programmes and policies geared towards the development of the vulnerable in society.

She went on to say that empowering the vulnerable had a knock-on effect on the health and productivity of other members of society, increasing their self-worth, decision-making power, access to opportunities, and ability to effect change.

“In my candid opinion, empowered vulnerable women contribute to the health and productivity of their families and communities, creating a ripple effect that benefits everyone, and it increases their sense of self-worth, their decision-making power, their access to opportunities and resources, their power and control over their own lives inside and outside the home, and their ability to effect change,” she said.
